Notre Dame de Monts

Sunday is a very quiet day in France. They really know how to relax and take time to be with friends and family. It’s also a quiet day for driving so we tootled along on quiet N roads towards the coast in the Vendee.

Along the way we felt a little hungry, having not eaten breakfast before we set off, so we pulled into a vacant spot in a little town, bought a baguette and cooked some bacon and eggs.

We were right next to a huge church but that didn't seem to bother anyone

It was a very beautiful church as Shirley found out when she nipped out to explore.

Feeling fully refreshed we were soon on the road again and heading for the seaside where we found a pleasant Aire de CC close to the beach in Notre Dame de Monts.

It took us a long time to find the beach

It took us a long time to find the beach and we walked a long way, only to discover that there was another one  right behind the Aire. Still, the walking will help burn off the massive amount of cheese we’ve been eating. Did I mention we love the cheese? Oh and the wine too??
