Updated Review 2020
This is truly one of our favourite sites in the whole of Scotland.
It has a slightly old fashioned air – a real old style campsite. Good clean toilets and showers plus washing up sinks, use of a kettle and microwave. An ice cream van calls some afternoons. The owners, John and Karen, are delightful – friendly and helpful. You are literally steps away from a white beach with crystal blue water. You can walk from here to ‘Ben’s beach’ from local hero. Views to Rhum, Egg and Skye and complete peace and quiet. You can hop from here to Skye via Mallaig which is about 8 miles away. We did that on our trip around the North Coast 500 but it was hard to leave Arisaig. We really wanted to stay on. We have visited almost every year since writing this review and it still calls to us. Simple life, lovely owners, beautiful views and sparkling fresh air.
Traigh golf course across the road is a real treat for golfers. £20 a day or £40 for a 3 day ticket. If you think you might be back you can have a country membership for £100. Worth every penny.
Two things to bear in mind.:
1) The nearest shop is 3 miles away and it’s a small but well stocked Spar. It may be best to bring what you need with you.
2) If you need to use the site showers bring pound coins, although Karen usually has change.
